Stroke/ Slow Burn

Stroke: Curated by Tony Charles, duration 17 January - 8 February 2020

This solo-exhibition by Tony Charles comprised of two main elements; firstly, a selection of his ‘Unpaintings’. Work which he has become known for consisting of imposing metallic pieces that are both paintings and presentations of an industrial process. The second is Stroke, a sculptural steel installation which challenges the preconception of steel being strong and robust and  is made from borrowed steel from a steel stockist, potentially leading to an unintended purchase of his art.
