Untold Stories: From the Campfire to the Hearth
Untold Stories was commissioned by East Durham Creates through an open call in 2022.
The Auxiliary Project Space proposed ‘From the Campfire to the Hearth’ and invited Nell Catchpole, Chris Suttie and Liz Collier alongside several other artist-facilitators to collaborate which resulted in a series of Campfire Events, workshops and concluded with an exhibition of works produced throughout the project.
This project led to an Exhibition — Untold Stories From Little Voices With Wild Ideas with artwork showcasing some of the most incredible stories and art in the form of Clay, Drawing, Sound and Song created during the campfire project workshops which went on to be Exhibited at East Durham Creates Art Café.
The first from the series of ‘The Campfire To The Hearth’ events took place at The Barn in Easington which was the perfect setting and a great start to the campfire gatherings! Including workshops from Chris Suttie where visitors worked with clay to make their own pinch pots. We also had Nell Catchpole collecting sounds and stories through audio recordings.
